About Portage Cars
Portage Cars is a used car dealership with yards at 8 Clark Street, New Lynn (Auckland), 51 Hewletts Road, Mount Maunganui (Bay of Plenty) and 500 Moorhouse Avenue, Waltham (Christchurch). It describes itself as one of the largest used car dealerships in New Zealand, with hundreds of cars across its locations, most of them displayed undercover, and works to the motto "no hassles, no hustles".
Its vehicles are handpicked by a specialist team of buyers in Japan, shipped to New Zealand and safety-checked at AA compliance centres. Its own workshop then carries out an independent check of each car covering panel and interior condition, appearance and drive quality. Portage Cars is an AA Preferred Dealer and MTA Assured, and uses an advertised price policy so there is no haggling.
The range covers petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, with a dedicated EV page on its website. Finance, trade-ins, optional extended warranties of one to three years and vehicle transport across New Zealand are available.
