Kelly's Automotive

Kelly's Automotive is a Whangarei mechanic based at its Herekino Street workshop. Alongside general repairs, servicing, WOFs and pre-purchase inspections, it works on European and luxury cars, fleet and lease vehicles, and electric and hybrid vehicles.

Its team of trained specialists works with EV and hybrid systems, and it services a wide range of models including the Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, Audi e-tron, and electric cars from the Honda and Skoda ranges. On an electric car the battery is the key part, so its EV checks cover battery health, the battery cooling system and the high-voltage components.

EVs still need regular work on brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights and wipers, and Kelly's handles these along with EV-specific diagnostics and mechanical and electrical repairs. Owners are advised to follow the manufacturer's service intervals, and can call the workshop for guidance.
