KAAR Henderson
EV Servicing and Repairs in Henderson, West Auckland
About KAAR Henderson
KAAR (Kelvin Armstrong Auto Repairs) has serviced and repaired West Auckland vehicles from 5 Waipareira Ave, Henderson since 2011. The workshop works on all makes and models of cars, 4x4s, utes and vans, and KAAR runs a second workshop on Rosebank Road in Avondale.
Electric vehicle servicing is carried out at both KAAR workshops, while EV repair work is done at Henderson, where the EV technician is completing his New Zealand Level 5 EV certification. KAAR services EVs to the manufacturer's specification, using manufacturer service requirements, and keeps a full service record for warranty and resale. The Nissan Leaf is the EV it sees most often.
An EV service at KAAR focuses on the checks that matter for an electric car: high-voltage battery state of health, brakes that are inspected, cleaned and lubricated because regenerative braking leaves them under-used, battery and power electronics cooling, tyres and the 12V battery. Electric, petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles are all charged at the same labour rate.
